Free keyboard to controller software

AntiMicro is a free software program that lets you map keyboard keys and mouse controls to a gamepad controller. With this app, You can play PC games with a game controller or joystick and is used by gamers who want to get rid of lag for quicker reaction times.

Xpadder is an alternative to AntiMicro. You can use your game controller buttons instead of your keyboard with these applications. JoyToKey and reWASD let you map your gamepad to your keyboard instead, and are optimal options when you want to use your keyboard instead of a controller. All apps except for reWASD are completely free.

What is AntiMicro?

AntiMicro is an application that lets you use a game controller instead of your keyboard to play video games. You can match keyboard keys and mouse controls to your handheld controller and can control reaction time settings. The program will automatically detect the controllers that you have connected to your PC. It runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The AntiMicro user interface has tabs to let you know which controllers are connected. The tabs are labeled and will turn red when you click buttons on your handheld joystick to let you know the tab is associated with the device. You can tap the tab to open the settings for the controller.

Is AntiMicro free?

The AntiMicro download is free for Linux and Microsoft Windows PC operating systems. The lightweight desktop application uses around 32 MB for the MSI version. The graphical program supports many gamepads and joysticks including PlayStation, Xbox, Wii, and more. The device names will appear automatically in the UI after you connect the gamepads.

How do I use AntiMicro?

The clean user interface makes AntiMicro easy to use. Your gamepad will appear in a tab at the top of the UI. The options that you see in the tabs are the buttons on your game controller. The associated buttons will turn purple any time that you press buttons on your joystick.

Presets are available at the bottom of the window to let you quickly set up your controller. Or, you can manually set up your controller instead. The app organizes your gamepad buttons into two main categories. A setting menu will appear when you click either an ‘Axis’ or ‘Button’ option. The ‘Axis’ refers to the cursor buttons on gamepads.

Each gamepad and joystick will have a tailored tab. You can click on any button to launch a setting window to match a gamepad control to either a keyboard or mouse button. Two tabs are available to let you choose whether you want to map keyboard or mouse strokes. The entire keyboard is available in the ‘Keyboard’ tab.

The ‘Mouse’ tab lets you assign mouse movements to the gamepad controls. You can choose whether the controller selections will mimic left or right clicks from your mouse. Down and up scrolling motions are also available to set up. The current setting will appear beside the button title. You can quickly see the keyboard and mouse movements that are mapped on your controller.

Can AntiMicro get you banned?

While you can get banned from games when the system detects AntiMicro, players often use AntiMicro to get rid of lag times. You can mark ‘Turbo’ to make your reaction time quick. The ‘Advanced’ area in the settings window lets you fine-tune your speed in the ‘Turbo’ section.

The ‘Enabled’ box needs to be marked to use Turbo. You can move the lever completely to the left to get the least input delay. Your delay per second will be listed above the line while the rate per second will be underneath. You can easily use your mapped controller by pressing ‘Save’ in the upper right corner after you have your settings set up.

Simple solution to map controllers

AntiMicro is safe to use on your PC and the source code is available for you to look at. Gamers use AntiMicro to get instant response times in games. Since you can get caught using the hack, you will want to use the mapping software during the creative modes instead of competitions. AntiMicro is popular among Fortnite gamers.

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
